MAY 2026
EVENT THEME
AFRO FUTURE
Afro Future explores where African fashion is going, shaped by where it comes from. It brings together heritage, craftsmanship, and cultural identity with new thinking around design, technology, and sustainability.
The theme reflects a shift in the industry. African designers are moving beyond visibility and stepping into influence, creating work that is both locally grounded and globally relevant. Traditional techniques are being reworked, new materials and processes are being explored, and fashion is being used as a tool for storytelling, innovation, and economic growth.

Afro Future also speaks to the full ecosystem around fashion. From runway showcases to retail and buyer engagement, it highlights how African brands are building sustainable businesses and reaching new markets.
At its core, it is about direction. Honouring legacy, while actively shaping what comes next.

MphoYaPeo (MYP) is Africa Fashion Week’s enterprise development programme supporting emerging fashion and accessories brands to grow into commercially viable businesses. Through structured training, mentorship, manufacturing support, and direct access to markets, MYP helps designers move beyond creativity into sustainable growth.
Anchored within the Africa Fashion Week platform, selected brands gain real exposure to buyers, retail opportunities, and industry networks. Emerging designers and accessory brands are invited to apply and take their businesses to the next level.
